In 1971, BS&T’s lead vocalist David Clayton-Thomas and the Grammy Award winning era line-up of the superstar outfit entered into the studio for their final smash recording sessions. Armed with a plethora of great new songs, they continued their hit streak with another Top 10 chart hit album B, S & T 4.

Featuring great hit singles and top album tracks, the masterpiece had enough traction to be called a greatest hits album in its own right. To get things started, B, S & T 4 included the hard rockin’ smash "Go Down Gamblin’" and the top 40 classic Lisa Listen to Me. As always, you can count on the legendary Steve Katz to bring home a power hit or two, especially with his masterwork "Valentine’s Day" and his classic "Mama Gets High." Even their founding member Al Kooper contributes one of their greatest tunes with his powerful "John The Baptist".

For B, S & T 4, the sound was new and exciting. David Clayton Thomas’ voice was thrilling, the horns meshed with rock and roll, Bobby Colomby’s power drumming, fusing with Steve Katz’s amazing guitar work all made the B, S & T 4 album soar to the top ten. All in all, making this one of the most revered albums in their long lasting and huge catalog of classic recordings.
