An Extraordinary Audiophile Recording

Recorded live on September 13, 2025, this remarkable production was engineered by renowned recording specialist René Laflamme for 2xHD.

Rather than relying on extensive close-microphone techniques, the recording was created using a minimalist stereo approach designed to preserve the natural balance, spaciousness and authentic acoustic character of the orchestra.

A carefully matched pair of historic Neumann M50 vacuum-tube microphones, dating from 1951, was arranged in a traditional A-B stereo configuration.

The performance was captured in high-resolution DXD, preserving the remarkable dynamic range, musical detail and natural reverberation of Montréal's celebrated Maison symphonique.

The result is an exceptionally immersive listening experience, allowing the listener to appreciate the depth of the orchestral soundstage, the subtle textures of individual instruments and the extraordinary emotional impact of a live symphonic performance.
