Alfred Lion considered pianist/composer Andrew Hill as unique as Thelonious Monk and documented Hill's music with a fervor. Recorded in 1964 with a quartet of modern jazz visionaries Bobby Hutcherson, Richard Davis and Elvin Jones Judgment ! was the third classic album Hill recorded in a five-month period that also produced Black Fire and Point of Departure.
